TOUR DIARY

February 16th

The good and beautiful turned out to see Cornerstone RAWK at THE ROCK in Copenhagen despite the bitter cold, howling winds and raging snow. People came from as far away as the Airport or Train station. A few even made the treacherous journey from The Scottish Pub in the main square. It was jolly good to see some old faces and some new old faces and some new young faces some wearing the Tshirts and all enjoying the music.

Now listen here fellow RAWKers Cornerstone would like to thank everybody who came and sang along and supported the band on their short but successful European Tour 05.
The tour ended on a high note in Aschaffenburg. The gig was well attended and several people had travelled from other cities to see the band again. There is one gig left and that is Copenhagen on the 12th Feb at The Rock.
Some of the shows have been recorded and we are looking at releasing a live album later this year as a thankyou to those who came and as a consolation for those who could not attend. Also it will replace the proposed DVD that we had to cancel at the last due to unforseen circumstances.

While we will miss our beloved bus it is nice to be back on dry land drinking nothing stronger than coffee. Staying up no later than bedtime and listening to nothing louder than the new Cornerstone demos......Oh yes there are 3 new songs  firey Rawkers the lot... so it will continue and we will return. Next Time bring a friend.

Happy New Rawking Year
Rune Brink, Kasper Damngard, Steen Mogensen, Allan Sorensen and Doogie White

A cracking venue that stays open till 6am. The band spent a lot of time after the show talking with fans and signing strange body parts...

The Hamburg show went well and it was great to catch up with some people who had been in Berlin

Finally after 5 shows back to back we have a day off. The glamourous world of rock n roll does take its toll after a while.

Kasper makin sure he has all the good lighting

Steen spots a fan who has sneaked in without paying

We rolled out the bus into the snow and made our way to the hotel where a lovely warm shower and bed waited for each of us. Doogie gets the top bunk but then remembers he is not 10 years old and regrets it.

January 26th

It was snowing by the time the Cornerstone bus rolled into Munich .
The gig was in an old industrial area that had been transformed into a funky center for nightlife.
There were several music venues and clubs. Indeed the Black Eyed Peas were playing just 200m from Cornerstone.
The club was full and several music publications arrived. Good job the band were on top form then...

A great view of the heads of Cornerstone fans...(note, not one but two girls in the crowd)

January 23th

Well to say that Wigwam in Budapest RAWKs would be an understatement. The audience were singing along to nearly all the songs. They were loud and are passionate about their rock music.

Gifts are always welcome and when we were given a bottle of what can only be described as Hungarian moonshine, the wiser members of the band decided to give it a miss. The braver souls who partook of this devils brew are sworn of alcohol for the rest of the tour. Hot lemon juice has been prescribed for the worst afflicted. The rest of us are feeling smug whilst showing minor sympathy.

Mr January...best not to ask

Budapests competition winners Zoltan and Rita who won tickets and aftershow passes to meet the band.

Looking forward now to Vienna and no hangovers

The Big Bus

Well the bus finally arrived later than expected to pick us up from the rehearsal rooms. It was cold and dark in Denmark as we loaded the bus. Mission accomplished then came the mad rush to get the best bunk. It is always important to choose a bunk as far from the toilet as possible for the obvious reasons. Then you have to consider the door to the outside world...well no one wants the fans to see them in their very unrock n roll pyjamas, eh Rune???

The Journey

The ride to Switzerland was uneventful as we all settled in. The serenity was soon smashed to a thousand pieces as the guards on the Swiss Border decided to make us all get off the bus empty our bags and get the carefully packed equipment out for inspection. its nice to stand around in the wind and rain when you have just woken up

The Venue

Rock Ciry in Uster is a small lively venue with an enthusiastic crowd. The gig was hot and sweaty and LOUD. We kicked of with Welcolme to Forever and finished of after 90 mins with a RAWKin Midnight in Tokyo with the crowd joining in on the "Shout it out" part. A great way to kick of the first tour of the band.

Cornerstone backstage after the first show at Rock City Uster, Switzerland on 20/1/05 with competition winners twins Caroline and Patricia.

The Day Off

We drove on through the night and had a day off in Saltzburg Austria, on our way to Hungary and parked up outside Rock House, who very kindly opened up the venue to allow us use off the facilities. Thanks lads. It`s so amazing how all the rockers pull together and help each other out. We wandered around and some of us bought shoes and some bought Jack Daniels. Tonight we are going into the Rockhouse to see some locl bands in a competition...perhaps we will get up for a jam.....
